Replica Mastodon Molar marchei Skull Length: 11The mastodon was a large, elephant like mammal that roamed North and Central America during the Ice Age. Unlike woolly mammoths, mastodons had straighter tusks and were adapted to forests, feeding primarily on leaves, twigs, and shrubs. They were covered in a dense coat of fur for insulation and played a vital role in their ecosystems before going extinct roughly 10,000 years ago, likely due to a combination of climate change and human activity.
